Gathering is a classic decoration. Its easy with this special foot, which is especially useful for sewing flounces on cushions and curtains or for attaching gathered seams on childrens clothing. You can simultaneously stitch and gather two layers of fabric quickly and easily. The layer that is to be gathered lies under the sewing foot and the layer which is not gathered is run through the space in the foot, from above.

Customer rating: It took little practice to get it right, as I'm new to having my hand me down pfaff 2042 ! I was making a cute lolita skirt with gathered bottom, turned out better than I had expected. I couldnt afford a ruffling foot ( three time the price !). Then I made pillow cases, matching quilt cover, all with a sweet little gathered turned over edge. Trying to find other things to make, to gather ! haha. Ok, its not a real gathered up very snug (using twice or three times the fabric) gather, but its cute ! I'd say worth a play with. (Posted on 7/28/12)
