The most common reason for this is the red transit clip located on the underside of your embroidery unit must be removed completely before installing the unit to your machine. Please check your instruction book for details of this if you have the for my Pfaff Creative 2.0/ Creative Performance or Creative Sensation and many other Pfaff embroidery machines.
